Not just another sleep app. We're doing things differently.

"Every noise app fights the room. Shush works with it. It reads what sound is already there and only generates what's missing — so you get full spectrum noise at a fraction of the volume. Synthesized in real time. No loops. No other app does this." — Dave Bennett, Founder

Room Analysis

Every room already has sound — HVAC, traffic, fans, appliances. Most noise apps ignore this and blast full broadband on top of it. Shush listens first, identifies the frequencies already present, and only generates what's missing. The result: full spectrum sound at significantly lower volume, because your room is doing some of the work. No other consumer app does this.

Helps You Sleep, Then Gets Out of the Way

A 2026 Penn Medicine study found that continuous broadband noise at typical volume reduces REM sleep by up to 19 minutes per night. Shush's smart timer is built around this research: low-level noise to help you fall asleep, a gentle fade, then silence — so your brain can rest properly.

Real-Time Synthesis. No Loops. Ever.

Four noise types — brown, pink, green, white — all synthesized live at 32-bit float using Apple's professional audio framework. Every moment is mathematically unique. No recordings, no samples, no repeat points. Your brain can't latch onto a pattern because there isn't one.

Tinnitus Notch Therapy

Users can match their specific tinnitus frequency — independently per ear — and set a precision notch filter. The app removes those frequencies from the noise output based on clinical notched sound therapy research. A genuine therapeutic tool, not a preset.

Adapts to Your Device

Shush detects whether you're on iPhone speakers, headphones, or Bluetooth and optimizes the output for each. Warm and full on small speakers. Deep and rich in headphones. The same audio can't sound right everywhere — so we adapt.

Guided Breathing

Scientifically validated breathing patterns — box, 4-7-8, calm, relax — with a visual breath pacer. Designed to activate the parasympathetic nervous system before sleep. Runs alongside noise, not as a replacement for it.

No Content Bloat

No guided meditations, playlists, or upsells to a library you don't need. Sleep, focus, tinnitus relief, baby sleep, relaxation — each mode is purpose-built. The audio engine is the product.
